Electronic Invoicing in Spain is part of the broader context of countries in the European Union participating in the introduction of e-invoicing.

The date of entry into force is subject to obtaining a Community derogation; once published in the Official Journal, it will be 12 months before the obligation becomes effective.

Electronic Invoicing system in Spain is also based on a series of private exchange platforms that have to meet the requirements of the relevant Royal Decree in order to be accredited.

Invoices must be sent immediately after their creation in the system, although under certain conditions the deadline for sending them is by the 16th day of the following month. In addition, the planned formats are CII, UBL, EDIFACT and Facturae.

Electronic Invoicing Spain: the service

The service enables the customer to send us invoices in UBL or CII format or in another structured format (such as fatturaPA) or in other less structured formats. Indicom will carry out any transformations necessary to make the invoice suitable and compliant with the accepted formats (CII, UBL, Facturae, EDIFACT).
Sending to the Veri*Factu platforms or TicketBAI (in the case of the Basque Country) will enable the receipt of either the signed file or an error message. Both will be made available to the customer.
In the case of a valid invoice, this will be sent taking into account the specificities of the customer’s region.

Invoices from suppliers will be downloaded automatically and made available to the customer in the agreed format and manner.

All invoices and their status will be available on our portal, where manual uploads will also be possible.
