Electronic Invoicing in Greece is part of the broader European digitalization process and is built around the central myDATA platform, which is used for invoice validation and tax reporting.
As of September 1, 2025, B2G e-invoicing is fully mandatory: all invoices issued to Public Administration entities must be validated through myDATA and then transmitted via the Peppol network in the Peppol BIS 3.0 (Greek CIUS) format.
For B2B transactions, the mandate will be rolled out in two phases: from February 2, 2026 for large companies (annual turnover above €1M) and from October 1, 2026 for all businesses. This model also follows a clearance approach, with the assignment of a unique MARK identifier after validation by myDATA.
Companies may use certified service providers or the free Timologio application made available by AADE. Some details regarding B2B invoice delivery—whether through a structured electronic format or via PDF/paper with a QR code—are still being defined.
The invoice retention period is 6 years.
